Encinitas Congregation Encinitas CA.
by exwhyzee inanyone from that hall?.
we attended a memorial for a long time friend there this past weekend.
it was my first time in a kingdom hall since memorial 2008. as per usual, the people were lovely but the message had gaps and left me feeling somewhat blank and cold.

I know someone who went to Encinitas, but that was over 20 years ago (that they attended). . . . Interesting how small the world is.

New forum 'parousia' is upon us! (software version)
by Simon inthe time has nearly come to switch over to the new forum software.
of course it's not completely finished yet (and never will be) but i think it's good enough to go live with and probably already better than the current one.
i'll give you a quick overview of what to expect and post more detail about the changeover process later.. cloud platform.

From 1 to 10, how do you rate the value of the Internet in your awakening?
by Hidden-Window inas we all know, the internet is a real game-changer in allowing us to know the truth about the watch tower and its history.
i always had doubts and it was the internet that presented me with the ever-growing number of individuals who were going through a similar struggle.. i give the internet a 9 in my awakening.
what about you?.

I would put it at about 6. Much of my initial research happened at the library. Seemed "safer" because it wasn't the Internet!
What sites like this ans jwfacts did for me was validate that I wasn't crazy - - there are other people out there thinking the same as me.
I give sites like "six screens" and other "christian-ish" sites minuses. . . . . terrible. They embody everything the WT tells you about apostates on the Internet.

Always enjoyed SBF's posts.
The "ending" was something out of a Peter Sellers movie. . .. . or something like that.. . . . .
. . . ."Aye, this was all just a red herring, that is all. . . .. . "

Elder Tells Study to stop using google for research ???
by raymond frantz inelder tells study internet is bad for research.
(watch the video here...).
it might be that the watchtower has embraced the internet in recent years as never before but in private things are the same .watch this video as an elder strongly discourages a study from using the internet to get answers.shameless mind control from the same people who promote in any kind shape and form their version of online truth ,jw.org.. not many years ago they used to demonise the internet as the following quote from july 2007 kingdom ministry shows:.

Its really quite amazing (but not surprising) how early in the game (home bible study level) shame and guilt are employed in "thought reform."
The elder starts out by saying he's not feeling the usual "connection" (or something to that effect) that he feels with other students. Is the problem his poor teaching or social skills? Nope! It's the study's fault.
From there we get into controlling information, and again he does this by using guilt and shame. It's like your taking to pharisees when jesus is standing next to you. The implication there is "you are a hideous person For doing this. Shame on you!"
The next step is these feelings of guilt and shame are internalized by the study, so the next time he goes to google "Jehovahs witness United nations" his Big Brother doesn't have to be there to stop him; he stops himself out of guilt and shame.
Personally, I feel this step -- instilling guilt feelings over "independent thinking" and researching outside information -- is the most insidious step of the thought reform regimen. If the target takes the bait here, it becomes infinitely more difficult to escape indoctrination.

I know that things have changed since the last time I went. But I believe in most of the teachings.
First thing I asked myself when I started on my "journey" was "How do I know what I know?"
Little did I know at that time, that this is probably one of the most important questions a human can ask themselves.
